Looking for a compact, capable gaming and everyday PC without the premium price tag of a big-name gaming brand? This refurbished HP EliteDesk 800 G3 small form factor desktop has been upgraded with a dedicated NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, turning a rock-solid business machine into an affordable gaming and productivity system.
Let’s be upfront: the GTX 1050 Ti is an entry-level graphics card by today’s standards, originally launched back in 2016. It won’t run the latest AAA blockbusters at ultra settings, and you shouldn’t expect 4K or even high-refresh 1440p gaming from it. What it will do well is handle esports titles — CS2, Valorant, League of Legends, Rocket League, Fortnite on lower settings — at smooth, playable frame rates at 1080p, and it will run older or less demanding AAA titles at low-to-medium settings without issue. For casual gamers, students who want to game between coursework, or anyone building their first PC on a tight budget, this is a genuinely usable machine rather than a token graphics card bolted onto an office PC.
The real appeal here is value: you’re getting a business-grade HP chassis with proven reliability, a still-relevant quad-core i7, 16GB of RAM, and dual storage, all at a fraction of what a comparable new pre-built would cost. As a refurbished unit, minor cosmetic wear such as light scuffs on the case is possible, but every system is functionally tested before it ships. The small form factor case does limit future upgrade options compared to a full tower, so if you think you’ll want to fit a larger graphics card down the line, this compact chassis is worth bearing in mind — but as a ready-to-go budget gaming and everyday PC, it delivers solid, honest performance for the price.
Who it’s for: this is a sensible pick for casual and competitive esports gamers, students who want a machine that handles coursework and gaming equally well, and anyone upgrading from a laptop or ageing desktop who wants a noticeable jump in responsiveness without a big outlay. If you mainly play CS2, Valorant, League of Legends, Fortnite or Rocket League and want smooth 1080p frame rates rather than ultra-settings AAA visuals, this HP delivers exactly that.
Every machine we sell has been unboxed, cleaned, inspected and functionally tested by a technician before it’s listed for sale, so you’re never gambling on an unknown, untested trade-in. We’d rather you know exactly what you’re getting, cosmetic wear included, than oversell a machine and leave you disappointed when it arrives. That honesty is why buyers keep coming back to us for their next upgrade.
